The primary schools with international sections in Strasbourg provide teaching in French and in the following languages - English, German, Italian or Spanish - from nursery to year 5 (CM2). The children can then complete their schooling in the secondary international sections. These are state-funded free schools which educate French and foreign children in an international environment.
The international sections aim to :
- facilitate the integration of children into the French school system and enable them to reintegrate into their own education system should they return to their country of origin ;
- create a learning environment which enables language learning at a high level for French children, thanks to the presence of foreign children ;
- encourage the transmission of the cultural heritage of the languages taught at the school.
Families living abroad, who are relocating to Strasbourg, may submit an application at any time.
